Minimum Wage Increase Out of New Covid Bill
DLI Helps Members Strike Win for All Small Businesses
The minimum wage increase to $15.00 per hour is not included in the Senate Covid Relief package. Thank you to all who submitted comments to their legislatures. Three items that were included that could directly affect you are:
- Federal minimum unemployment remains at an additional $300 and is extended to Sept. 6
- Additional $7 Billion into the PPP (Payroll Protection Program)
- Additional $15 Billion into the EIDL (Emergency Injury Disaster Loan) Program
The Senate bill needs to go through reconciliation but that is expected and the President is expected to sign. There are a number of other initiatives that received funding including direct stimulus payments to individuals, support for vaccine programs, and funding for schools.
