Hands-On Training Builds Real-World Skill into DLI Advanced Stain Removal Virtual Course

Four-day virtual program helps cleaners strengthen stain removal skills through live instruction, guided practice, and exercises on the board

The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) offers its newly-revamped Advanced Stain Removal Virtual Course May 5, 7, 12, and 14 to give garment care professionals the opportunity to build stronger spotting skills through a virtual format designed for real-world application. Rather than relying on lecture alone, DLI’s four-day course combines live online instruction with substantial hands-on practice so participants can apply techniques as they learn.

Created for cleaners ready to move beyond the basics, DLI’s Advanced Stain Removal Virtual Course helps participants improve results on more difficult stain-removal and fabricare challenges. Each student receives a packet of stain swatches to work through during the course, turning computer-based instruction into an active learning experience that reinforces retention, sharpens technique, and supports better decision-making on (and off) the spotting board.

The practical component gives DLI’s virtual training a meaningful advantage. Students do not simply watch and listen. They practice. By pairing expert-led instruction with guided exercises, DLI helps participants translate knowledge into skill they can use right away in their plants. The resulting training supports better garment outcomes, reduces risk, and helps cleaners approach difficult stains with greater confidence.

“Virtual training should do more than deliver information,” said Brian Johnson, DLI’s Director  of Analysis & Education. “Our virtual stain removal courses let students practice what they’re learning. They are actively working with the material which turns instruction into confidence and confidence into better garment care.”

The value of that approach is resonating with participants.

“DLI’s Virtual Stain Removal Course was very interesting and insightful starting with the knowledge about fabrics to tips and processes to remove stains on them,” said Rocca Rana with Drape Master in Toronto, Ontario. “The instructor Brian was very knowledgeable, spoke from experience and was open to all questions asked. Overall, it’s a great program.”

“The quality of the knowledge at DLI’s virtual training classes is amazing,” said Gary Maloney, President and Owner of Nu-Yale Cleaners in Jeffersonville, IN. “The person we trained is doing excellent. You’d think she had done this for years. Students seem to remember better, because they take what they learn and work with it.”

DLI developed the course to meet the needs of busy owners, managers, spotters, and production staff who want meaningful technical training without the cost and disruption of travel. Through a combination of live lectures, videos, guided discussion, and hands-on stain removal exercises, the program gives participants a deeper understanding of stain classification, treatment strategies, and the practical steps required to improve results.

For cleaners seeking advanced education that goes beyond theory, DLI’s Advanced Stain Removal Virtual Course offers an effective path to stronger performance. Participants leave with practical experience, stronger technical understanding, and tools they can put to work immediately.

Tuition is $695 for non-DLI members, $495 for Budget members, $396 for Standard members, $297 for Premier members, and $495 for International members.
