The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) and its regional partners continue their 2026 momentum with a March lineup of skill-building programs, expert-led education, and high-value networking opportunities designed to help garment care professionals strengthen operations, improve customer experience, and drive business growth.

Garment Care Regulatory Update with Jon Meijer, DLI’s Membership Director

Jon Meijer, DLI’s Membership Director and integral part of DLI’s Regulatory and Legislative team, will update members on how upcoming changes to government requirements will impact the industry. Meijer is a 45-year Institute veteran who has served on the front line of the industry’s defense for decades. Attendees will learn what new regulations may impact their businesses in the near future and how to stay ahead of these changes.

DLI’s in-depth, hands-on drycleaning education continues this March with the start of its Introduction to Drycleaningand Advanced Drycleaning courses—designed to build strong foundational skills and prepare professionals to confidently handle complex garments, equipment, and plant operations.

Introduction to Drycleaning Course – Five Days

This fully immersive training provides essential, practical instruction for those new to drycleaning or looking to strengthen core skills. Participants receive hands-on experience in:

  • Sorting garments for drycleaning
  • Cleaning delicate fabrics such as silk and satin
  • Operating drycleaning machines
  • Removing common stains including coffee, ink, and grease
  • Pressing a variety of garments
  • Using tensioning equipment to improve finishing quality

Course Dates:

  • March 9 – 13, 2026

Advanced Drycleaning Course – 10 Days

Designed for experienced professionals, the Advanced Drycleaning course builds on foundational knowledge with deeper instruction in:

  • Advanced fabric identification
  • Complex stain removal techniques
  • Pressing and wetcleaning
  • Machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Customer service best practices
  • Plant workflow and layout design

This comprehensive program equips participants with the expertise needed to manage challenging garments, improve plant efficiency, and elevate overall service quality.
