Drycleaning & Laundry Institute Supports Americas Act Bill
The Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) officially supports passage of the Americas Act, in its intention to promote sustainability and innovation in the textile care and fashion industries. The current objective is to help the Americas Trade and Investment Act (Americas Act) pass in the U.S. Congress. The bill proposes significant incentives to drive textile reuse, repair, and recycling. This bill was brought to our attention by the American Circular Textiles Group (ACT). America’s Best Cleaners, Kreussler Textile Care, The Real Real, and more than 40 commercial groups support this initiative and ACT.
What This Means for DLI Members
- Leadership in Sustainability: As supporters of the Americas Act, DLI members will be at the forefront of advocating for sustainable practices within the textile sector. Our involvement will help shape policies and innovations that promote circularity.
- Access to New Opportunities: With passage of the Americas Act, DLI members will benefit from new business opportunities, including textile recycling programs, repair and alteration services, and sustainable practices that attract environmentally conscious consumers.
- Influence on Legislation: Our contributions to this legislation will help create a more sustainable future for our industry.
